Safeguarding and more
21 Feb : 13:52  by Lee Hart

At the coaches conference an overwhelming amount of people voted in favour of using the Educare Safeguarding for Sports and Active Leisure for their Safeguarding Program. The on-line learning incorporates:

  • An introduction to Child Exploitation
Child Protection in Sport and Leisure
    Preventing Bullying
    Equality and Diversity
    First Aid Essentials
    Food Hygiene & Safety
    Online Safety
    Safeguarding Adults
    Safeguarding Young People
An introduction to Safety in Clubs
    Safer Recruitment
    Personal Safety

Quoted at £11 per person Lee Hart has managed to skim another £1 off this price meaning that your club coaches and officials can now buy these programs for just £10.00.

With Safeguarding being a mandatory topic and club coaches and officials must have Child Protection in Sport and Leisure as a minimum, this program offers so much more.

Shortly there will be a new button on the "Coaching Course" page and when you register you get 12 months access to your own page where you can select as many topics as you want to study whether it be one or ten! Once you have completed a certificate it lasts for two years so we are asking you to spend £5 per year to keep your knowledge up to date.

What are you waiting for?
DBS & DBS Update Service
18 Feb : 14:23  by Neil Hunter
All licensed BTBA Coaches and YBC Officials require a suitable DBS certificate.

it has been suggested in the past to register yourself with the DBS update service,

however, when you request a DBS application pack from the BTBA,
tick the box "Please Confirm That You Agree to use the DBS Online Update Service"
and the BTBA will register it on your behalf.

Being registered on the DBS update service allows the BTBA and anyone you give permission, to check if there has been any changes since your certificate was printed, also there is no need to make any further applications as long as you remain a volunteer.

you can request a DBS application pack here

Licence Applications
23 Nov : 16:44  by Neil Hunter
To All Coaches and Officials

We are fully aware and very sorry for the delays in producing licence cards, since taking over Licensing in October we have been putting together a more robust process which is taking longer than expected,

Please be a little more patient and we will keep you fully informed along the way.

I can assure you that all recent applications are being processed and all applications received prior November are a priority and will be processed over the next few weeks.

YBC's should refer to the Coaches Club Website for clarification of coaching qualifications and validity. Coaches with recent qualifications are excused from displaying / wearing "Out of Date" licences for a short period of time (This exclusion expires Dec 31st 2016) so long as they are registered on the coaches club website.
