Licence Applications
23 Nov : 16:44  by Neil Hunter
To All Coaches and Officials

We are fully aware and very sorry for the delays in producing licence cards, since taking over Licensing in October we have been putting together a more robust process which is taking longer than expected,

Please be a little more patient and we will keep you fully informed along the way.

I can assure you that all recent applications are being processed and all applications received prior November are a priority and will be processed over the next few weeks.

YBC's should refer to the Coaches Club Website for clarification of coaching qualifications and validity. Coaches with recent qualifications are excused from displaying / wearing "Out of Date" licences for a short period of time (This exclusion expires Dec 31st 2016) so long as they are registered on the coaches club website.

BTBA Cards and Licences
30 Oct : 16:51  by Neil Hunter
Coaches who bowl
Non bowling coaches
Officials who bowl
& Non bowling officials

This will be done at national level

Our aim is to combine all coaching and officials licences with the BTBA membership

One date, one card, one payment.
This will speed up the licensing process and will eliminate having more than one card to carry around.
The new style of card will be very similar to the current BTBA gold membership card and will be colour coded to the level of coaching qualification held and will be supplied with a BTBA coaches club lanyard and card holder,
The licence fee and BTBA membership fee will be selected as one payment at the time of renewal

The card design is currently being approved and hopefully the first batch of cards will be sent out in the next few weeks, over the next 12 months all licences will be the new style card

Please remember ALL licences are subject to a DBS check and in some cases this can take a few months to be completed
If an existing DBS certificate is not registered with the online update service a new DBS will need to be applied for

Welcome to the Senior Coaching Team
13 Oct : 16:53  by Lee Hart
Neil Hunter is the Founder of the BTBA Coaches Club so who better to manage it than the man himself congratulations and thank you for taking on the Coaches Club Manager Position. If anyone deserves the Chairman's award for 2016 you could do far worse than voting for Neil. The changes he has made to both the site and the updating and streamlining of BTBA application processes are second to none.

Neil will be maintaining the website and processing the Licence applications in line with ensuring DBS applications and Safeguarding training are completed. A new improved insurance policy will be issued taking both PL/PI to £5m each.

Andre Davidson - Development Officer
Last year we introduced the "quiz" to Fundamentals Coaches. This year we are going one stage further testing the knowledge of Foundation Coaches. André under Derek Simpsons direction will audit coaches and YBC's to ensure the standard of coaching across the BTBA is standardised and training is kept up to date.

Phil Cox - Inclusion Officer
The Equality Act 2010 says that everyone is entitled to the same standards and to us this includes our disabled colleagues who want to bowl. Special Olympics are looking for guidance and assistance in producing coaches to work with teams as they prepare for Sheffield 2017.

Phil has accepted the challenge of leading a team that will work with Special Olympics to make both their dreams and aspirations come true. We know this is a tough challenge but Phil who recently became a Coaching Tutor is confident of making a difference.

Martin Woodworth - Events Officer
Martin will make, reserve, book locations so that we can put on a coaching Seminar in February 2017. The weekend promises to have top names from the world of coaching, information on updates and training, Inclusion, Anti-Doping and much more. Make a note of 25th and 26th February at the Holiday Inn Coventry and get this in your diary now. Martin is a skillfull negotiator who will prove a wonderful asset to our team.

Dave Tagg - Regional Coaching Manager (Central)
I've known Dave for almost the whole time I've been involved in bowling. We have taken exams together, climbed through the old money phase exams and I have come to respect Dave as the Lincolnshire Team Manager and Coach that I used to bump into at Junior Counties.

Dave has the forward thinking vision that I believe will help to guide our team and contribute to our making a positive difference to Coaches, Tutors and our Senior Management Team.

Welcome to the team!
